Cleaning is the beginning of setting things in order. Sweeping and wiping until it is clean means old matters really are being cleared; sorting out what to throw away means you have already decided what to let go.
What if the dream felt bad?
Cleaning that never ends is the state of holding more than you can carry. If you were cleaning someone else's space, you are carrying their share too — what comes first is redrawing the boundary, not tidying.
How does it connect to the chart?
Cleaning is Metal at work in BaZi — the energy that removes and sorts. In a chart weak in Metal, tidying is forever postponed, and when this dream comes to such a person it signals that now is one of the rare seasons when it can actually be done.
